The boss is a typical exploitative employer. Two days before issuing sales bonuses, they can have a manager notify the sales staff that, because the product did not make money, they can receive only half of their performance bonus. After the employee leaves, they deduct the sales bonus again, citing the same reason—that the product did not make money. Even more absurdly, after the employee leaves, they only have an assistant send an email informing them that their bonus has been deducted.
