IT department
Buying things isn’t any cheaper
Things some people like:
1. You get 11 days of annual leave in the year after joining
2. There is an afternoon tea break, with a fixed one-hour break every day from 15:00 to 16:00
3. You can bring slippers to the office and change into them while there
4. Flexible lunch hours
5. Some software engineering processes have been introduced
6. The workload isn’t heavy; you don’t need to, and aren’t allowed to, take work home
7. There is a snack area (snacks brought in by employees) and a beverage machine (cheaper than outside)
8. Stable income, with punctual start and finish times
9. Year-end bonuses are guaranteed
Things some people complain about:
1. Shorts are not allowed
2. Non-flexible working hours; clocking in and out is required
3. There aren’t many partner stores offering special discounts
4. No clubs, gym, or employee trips
5. It’s a retirement zone; you can learn existing technologies, but it’s difficult to learn new ones
6. There isn’t much interaction among colleagues, so it can feel a little dull / If you like discussing technology with others, you can probably only go to the R&D department, where there may still be opportunities
7. SVN
