Even though an English TOEIC score threshold was clearly specified, HR still arranged for me to interview with the boss in an attempt to boost the number of interviews. I spent over two hours listening to the boss talk about the company’s history and achievements, only for the boss to say at the end that I should come back once I reached the required TOEIC score. It was an enormous waste of the interviewee’s time.
