Although it calls itself the leader of the travel industry, it achieves this by exploiting its employees. The company has a very severe overtime culture, which is all brushed aside with the phrase “responsibility-based work.” The office is still brightly lit after 10 p.m., and working until one or two in the morning is also commonplace.
The internal organizational structure is very strange. All Lion Travel job titles would be two levels lower at a normal company. The company has nearly 10 general managers, 20 vice presidents, and more assistant general managers and managers than you can count.
I advise people interested in the travel industry to give it a try, but don’t set your expectations too high—you’ll be very disappointed.
