1. Family-owned business
2. Two people cover the opening and closing shifts at one store. There are two hours of overlap, but basically only one person is on duty at a time.
3. One day off per week. The closing-shift employee gets the day off first; on that day, the opening-shift employee works a 14-hour shift. The next day, the opening-shift employee gets the day off, and the closing-shift employee works 14 hours.
4. Take-home pay is approximately 28,000 per month, for around 250 working hours. This includes perfect-attendance pay of 2,000, overtime pay of 2,000, and union labor and health insurance contributions of 2,000 (there is no company insurance coverage, and no labor pension contributions either).
5. After working for more than six months, you take a promotion test. Passing it results in a 2,000 raise, with 1,000 added to the perfect-attendance pay.
6. There is a “store performance” bonus. Only the owner knows the formula, and it is paid sporadically.
