Job duties: Taking measurements, drawing construction plans and elevations, handling clients’ questions, handling on-site matters, creating 3D drawings, and miscellaneous errands

Personal thoughts:

First, a brief summary of the interview: After reviewing my portfolio, they gave me a computer-based test to see whether I had the skills—in other words, I had to draw a 3D model on-site. Then we chatted for a while. They said the designer would call later to inform me of the compensation. When the call came, I was told I would only have one day off per week, the salary would be 18,000 during the probationary period, and it would be raised to 22,000 after completing the three-month probationary period. I asked whether labor and health insurance were provided, and they only replied that it could be discussed with the boss later.

This job offers compensation that is a full test of one’s endurance. Unfortunately, I’m a “strawberry person” and couldn’t accept this precious opportunity to earn 18,000 a month, work until being hospitalized, and still have to pay out of pocket to smear cow dung.

Position: Design Assistant

The salary is low, and you need to keep reminding them to pay you; otherwise, payments will be overdue. Working on Saturdays and overtime on regular workdays are unpaid.

The boss’s temper... well, there are many miscellaneous tasks. When there is or isn’t anything to do, you end up being an Excel and Word teacher, picking up and dropping off + looking after children... and so on.

It is full of frustration, and you cannot learn much. On top of that, you are yelled at and scolded for no reason. Maybe I’m part of the “strawberry generation” and couldn’t take it, so I resigned.

Seems to be a fairly well-known company in Chiayi; looking at the projects can help you learn the feel of elaborate design.

The monthly salary is 23K, and after the three-month probationary period they say it will be raised to 25K or more depending on your abilities. There is no labor or health insurance during the probationary period, and it feels like you would have to do a lot of miscellaneous tasks………

Working every other week off and being under a responsibility-based system makes it feel like you would end up working to death in overtime.

The salary is unbelievably low……and the amount of leave is unbelievably little……
