The boss does not understand the software engineering field, and the manager has worked in quality assurance but does not understand the actual front-end and back-end work or system development. They want you to follow their ideas but do not tell you what those ideas are, expecting you to guess. If you guess wrong, you get scolded; if you guess correctly, there is no reward. A quick online Google search can easily turn up plenty of articles that refute their own claims. Think twice before deciding to work there.
