Read the community guidelines1. Buddhist organization
2. Pleasant environment (Songshan District, Taipei City)
3. Vegetarian meals provided
4. Opportunity to participate in Dharma services
The two monks conducting the interview were very quiet. One female monastic spoke very bluntly (her questions were very sharp and could drive you crazy), while one male monastic spoke very indirectly (a man of few words).
1. During the interview, the two monastics kept asking questions based on your résumé, but they had not taken the time to read the applicant’s résumé carefully (approximately 10 minutes).
2. They gave only a brief explanation of the job duties and seemed reluctant to explain them clearly (about 2–3 minutes). Most of the time, I had to ask follow-up questions about the job duties and other matters before the monastics gave brief answers.
3. Weekend shifts are required
4. Low salary
5. Vocational training in Dashu District, Kaohsiung City
The environment is excellent. Senior colleagues and supervisors are always willing to help, and you can work hard together with others who joined the company at the same time. There are many activities, providing opportunities to meet people from different countries and broaden your horizons.
If you live there, you need to eat vegetarian food, as you cannot cook separately. If you do not live there, the road conditions are poor and can be dangerous in bad weather. Also, the pay is genuinely very low, since it is a nonprofit organization.
