Pros

1. Working alone. The customers you deal with are straightforward, so you are unlikely to encounter unreasonable customers.

2. Time off is relatively flexible. Tell the boss three days in advance which day you want to take off.

3. The boss covers traffic fines, except for running red lights and speeding.

Cons

1. The salary is advertised as NT$40,000–50,000, but in reality you are working yourself to the bone making deliveries, because it is NT$800 per trip and two trips per day. However, there are no Monday, Wednesday, or Friday morning trips, so if you do not take any days off for a week, that is 800 × 11 = 8,800. If you do not take any days off for a month, 8,800 × 4 = 35,200. Where does the 40,000–50,000 come from? Are you kidding me?

Okay, even if I do not enroll in labor and health insurance through the company and they give me a NT$100 daily subsidy, 35,200 + 3,000 = 38,200. Where does the 40,000–50,000 come from??????

And this calculation assumes I do not take any days off and work both morning and evening every day. The posting on 104 clearly has to include long-distance routes for it to possibly reach over NT$40,000–50,000.

Simply put, the salary information is deceptive.

2. The work hours are scattered, making you feel like you are working all day. It is exhausting. In the morning, you deliver goods for Watami; in the afternoon, you deliver goods for OK Logistics.

The hours listed on 104, 0800–1200 and 1700–2200, sound very good but are simply deceptive. First of all, anyone who arrives on time is an idiot.

For an 0800 start, you can actually arrive nearly 20 minutes late and it does not matter, because the boss is not even awake yet. The same applies in the afternoon.

Then you still have to wait for the large truck to arrive. Once it arrives, you have to take turns loading the goods. By the time you are actually ready to leave, sorry, it is already past 9:00. Fortunately, there are not many stops in the morning—just a few—so you can return a little after 12:00. But that is still beyond the working hours listed above. Sorry, since you are paid per trip, there is no overtime pay. If you come back late, it is because you are slow, okay? XOXO. The same applies in the afternoon, and there are even more stops at night, so you will definitely return after midnight.

3. The company has absolutely no procedures. The boss only tells you where to go on the day the large truck arrives: “You go here, you go there.” The driver asks, “Where is that? I have never been there.”

The boss only replies, “Use the navigation. It’s very simple.” They send people out to make deliveries without any handover at all, so no wonder they come back late. Labor and health insurance are not handled consistently either; you decide for yourself. Salaries can be paid either in cash or by bank transfer. The vehicles are also unbelievably bad, but I cannot be bothered to talk about that anymore.

4. The boss and the drivers are heavy smokers. They smoke in the vehicle too, completely disregarding the feelings of people who do not smoke.
