This page collects workplace experiences, questions and discussions submitted by users. Dates shown are submission dates, not periods of employment. Individual reports do not describe the entire company.
Read the community guidelines1. You can freely use the restroom, smoke, eat, or go outside for some fresh air during work.
2. There are basic bonuses for the three major holidays.
3. They generally do not ask too many questions when you take leave.
1. The system for employees’ additional bonuses is very disorganized. Even when bonuses are supposed to be paid, they are given reluctantly—or employees have to ask for them proactively.
2. The accounting staff only appear an average of one day per week, making it difficult to get assistance with accounting matters.
3. The position described in the initial interview turned out to require handling two roles after joining the company.
4. The long-serving employees are very self-important and not friendly at all.
5. The bosses are experts at shifting blame. They only say they are busy and then leave half-finished tasks for employees to clean up. When something goes wrong, they pile the blame on employees (though they do not make employees pay for it).
6. Whenever something goes wrong, they often blame you by saying that employees lack initiative.
7. There is no overtime pay.
8. No matter how late employees work, the accounting assistant clocks everyone out at the scheduled end of the workday, 6 p.m.
9. When the two bosses hold meetings together, they easily lose their tempers, making employees feel extremely awkward.
10. The company’s entire workflow is completely chaotic. Tasks that should have been handled first are often left until the very end.
11. Because the schedule for the details of project proposals is not planned adequately, employees often have to urge factories to work overtime.
12. The bosses take out their frustrations on others.
13. After only two days on the job, while still unfamiliar with the environment and work, I was scolded for not doing anything.
14. They consider employees who leave work on time to be unambitious.
15. If you do not reply on LINE during the weekend, you will be scolded when you return to work the next day.
16. They only pay attention to employees working in project planning roles and do not care about the other employees at all.
17. The bosses say they will reward everyone for their hard work, but after several months of being busy, the only encouragement we received was roughly equivalent to a perfect-attendance bonus.
In short, the company’s high turnover today is entirely deserved.
Pros
1. You can freely eat some snacks during work.
2. When there isn’t much work, you can leave work on time.
3. There are bonuses paid at three traditional festivals.
4. Taking leave is not made excessively difficult.
1. The boss is extremely lecherous—extremely, extremely lecherous. This is important (women really should not come for an interview).
2. They make it sound very generous and say there will be a year-end bonus, but in reality it is very little. Don’t set your expectations on it.
3. Salaries are always delayed until the 5th, paid at the very last minute.
4. They assign you something ten minutes before the end of the workday and expect it to be finished that day.
5. The base salary is unbelievably low, e.g. NT$23,000–27,000.
6. You are expected to be able to do everything and know everything (on your first day, you are already expected to help at an event...).
7. The company takes on a pile of strange projects that make little money while keeping everyone very busy (most are dreadful public tenders).
8. The boss gets impatient easily and therefore yells and shouts (even when it is the boss’s own fault).
9. There are many long-serving employees at the company who put on airs.
10. What is described as an opportunity to learn is actually making you do two jobs at once while keeping your salary unchanged.
11. You need to be patient because they love making changes, and the boss and long-serving employees like giving all kinds of terrible suggestions.
12. There is no overtime pay. Even when women work late, the company will not pay for a taxi; you have to handle it yourself.
13. Clients and the boss will all add you on LINE, and there is also a company group that you are forced to join.
14. Regardless of whether it is a holiday or after work, you must answer calls and reply on LINE. Otherwise, you will be mocked at work or told to attend a meeting.
15. The accountant is often absent, so asking about payments is sometimes very troublesome, and payments are also frequently left unprocessed.
"In summary, the company has a very high turnover rate; it can replace five planners in a year."
