A barrage of calls from consecutive unknown numbers, and in the end they even used the online messaging system of the job bank to leave a message saying that the interviewee did not answer the phone.
They spoke rudely, which made me uncomfortable. What do you mean by, “So-and-so~ I called you three times this morning, and you didn’t answer?”
There was clearly an online messaging system available. They could have just used the internet from the start.
The company’s phone number was different from the number shown on caller ID, so I wasn’t going to spend money calling back. I had no idea who it was...
Was the interviewee supposed to stay by the phone at all times, waiting for a call that could come at any time?
Was an unemployed interviewee supposed to have nothing else to do, constantly watching the phone and never being apart from their cellphone? Was I not supposed to do anything else?
After I went in, I asked for the woman who had emailed me through the job bank to arrange the interview. The staff member there said it was probably a man who had asked me to come in for an interview.
They told me to sit and wait, then said they couldn’t find my résumé and asked whether I had brought one with me.
So, was this woman actually the one who posted the job-bank listing???
She then said that the person responsible for the interview had suddenly been called away to deal with something.
She hurriedly looked through my résumé, asked me a few simple questions, and told me about the job. Then, suddenly, the male supervisor who was actually responsible for the interview came to interview me.
The male supervisor had my résumé in his hands and ended the interview hastily after asking only a few questions. He didn’t mention anything at all about days off, working hours, salary, or anything else, and I couldn’t be bothered to ask more.
Although the job had been posted on the job bank, he didn’t mention it at all. Usually, they should at least say something about it, right...?
The male supervisor only said that they would notify me online after evaluating my application. (He even said that I apparently didn’t answer the phone?!)
