Cons

They ask about relationship and marital status, and did not inform me that there would be a second interview. The first interview was with the department manager, who has a design background rather than a marketing background. The entire process took about half an hour. I briefly described my work experience, and the manager showed the interviewee some of the marketing work they had produced in the past for review, to determine whether the interviewee could produce articles of a similar standard.

Then, the week after the interview, HR suddenly informed me about a second interview. The second interview was conducted by HR and lasted about an hour. This time, the discussion was quite detailed, and they may also have wanted to “reference” marketing assignments from other companies. They asked how long it would take me to become familiar with the products and whether I could work overtime. They also asked about my relationship status, although this should not be asked during an interview. This made me extremely uncomfortable.

Both the manager and HR admitted, independently of each other, that the structure and operation of the company’s current marketing department are incomplete. The department originally had four people, but two have left, and another person will leave soon. Therefore, upon joining, I might have to shoulder the work of the entire department alone. In addition, they stated that there is currently no budget allocated for advertising or digital marketing, and that the work mainly focuses on event marketing and content marketing.

Finally, regarding company benefits, HR mentioned one day of domestic travel each year, plus a birthday celebration. They did not mention year-end bonuses, leave, or anything similar.
