Read the community guidelinesThe HR staff were polite and courteous, quite normal. No wonder they kept asking whether I would come to the interview as scheduled. It turns out they have cats. The company is bright and clean.
The interview I attended was at Shengpeng Co., Ltd. in Sanchong... Shengpeng Co., Ltd... Please don't get it wrong. We must not wrong a good company; this interview review is specifically about Shengpeng Co., Ltd.
They dare to treat interviewees this way, so I'm telling everyone about it.
Disadvantages
Anyone planning to attend an interview, please take note. I swear that everything I have written is absolutely true; otherwise, may I suffer retribution.
I entered the company's second-floor office and also completed the real-name registration required for pandemic control. A woman led me to the office to wait for the supervisor's interview. I later learned that the owner was the supervisor.
A man came in. His face looked very unpleasant from the start, and I didn't know what was wrong. I thought it didn't matter—I was there for an interview, so we could just talk. At first, he asked about my experience and the job duties. I interviewed as I had previously in the electronics and information technology industry. I had never applied to a company with a processing-factory type of operation. Halfway through, he suddenly said very angrily, “You interrupt me before I’ve finished speaking,” and told me to get out. I was startled. It turned out this company was so different from the foreign companies and technology companies I had worked for before. I held myself back. Although no amount of money could make me work for such a disrespectful company, after he finished speaking, I asked whether I could answer before I dared to say anything. His attitude became even worse when we discussed the salary I was asking for. He said, “You’re asking for this salary? Convince me,” and “It’s only what other people are offering,” and so on. At that point, I felt he was extremely classless and rude. He then said that my job would be subject to a responsibility-based work system. When it was my turn to speak, I emphasized that certain duties were not my specialty, and the supervisor suddenly exploded again, saying, “If you answer like that again, leave.”
No matter how bad or inadequate I may be, basic courtesy is necessary. You could have asked me to go home and wait for news, or simply asked me to leave normally. I am not an employee of your company; there is no need to insult an interviewee.
I thought, What kind of company have I encountered? Do you have to approve how I answer? I’m not even your employee yet. You clearly don’t understand the situation. I directly said I was leaving. You don’t need to keep yelling at me—I’m only someone who came for an interview. Do you have to treat me like a dog and yell at me?
I feel that this company believes people who come for interviews are there to beg and plead with them for a job and a meal, as if they are above everyone else. I never imagined that the owner of a traditional-industry company would think that spending money gives him the right to humiliate others so casually, while still wanting to hire an engineer from the electronics and information technology field. I have worked for decades and have never encountered anyone with such an attitude toward people. Perhaps only incapable people are yelled at all day long.
Personally, I feel that unless you have no other way out and are about to starve, you should not go to an interview there. I would rather starve to death than work for a company that disrespects people. It would be best not even to attend the interview; otherwise, you will definitely be very upset. (If you do want to try it out, that’s fine too—just remember to write a review afterward and help others.)
Finally, I swear again that everything I said is absolutely true. If I am lying, may I die a terrible death.
