First of all, high salary but poor benefits, in violation of the Labor Standards Act. Also, the company apparently requires employees to work a full 196 hours a month, and only hours beyond that count as overtime, but usually there is no overtime pay.

Also, no supervisor came to train me. There was only a part-time student with more than a year of experience who would occasionally come to provide support and teach me a little, but you could almost say they taught me nothing at all :)

Even on the first day of the anniversary sale, there were more complicated discounts, but no one actually taught me how to process them, and I ended up losing 500 because of it.

Usually, with other nine-to-five jobs, even if there are coworkers at the company you don't want to interact with, you can try to discuss only work-related matters.

But as a retail salesperson, there are very few people on staff, so coworkers really matter. Even if you don't want to interact with them, you still have to spend a lot of time with them. So let me tell you what the coworkers here are like.

There is a female coworker who has been here for more than a year. She is honestly quite a scary person. I remember meeting her on my first day: she was frantically discussing a part-timer who wasn't there at the time with the floor manager, without caring that everyone else was present. Basically, the conversation was about how that part-timer would probably leave next month. She talks badly about people behind their backs while pretending to be on good terms with them in public.

I remember my first conversation with her was: “What do you think ○○ (a certain part-timer) is like at work?”

She is incredibly gossipy—even gossip about other branches has to be discussed. In any case, she makes herself look like the hardest-working and most capable person in front of upper management.

I could only see the full-time employees' schedules. At first, the person who interviewed me also said that full-time employees only needed to look at the full-time portion of the schedule first, and the part-time shifts would be adjusted later. Then one day, they didn't schedule anyone at all for the morning shift. Strictly speaking, this was entirely their oversight, but afterward I was scolded over the phone by that woman. She was really rude.

Anyway, everyone let's play a guessing game together.

If you guess correctly, it will be treated as something you were supposed to know.

If you guess wrong, they will feel that even if no one taught you or told you, you should still know it—as if everything were our problem and we were supposed to be psychic 🥴🥴

The other coworkers are also very rude and will steal sales.

There are even situations where a customer has already come to ask me about a product,

I go to the stockroom to get the right size for them,

and then another coworker suddenly pops out and says, “I'll do it.”

So funny.

Everything is so funny.

By the way! I worked at SOGO Tianmu! The sales there are really awful and it is very difficult to make sales. I recommend that only people who really enjoy badmouthing others behind their backs come here—it will be easier for you to fit in 😻😻

I honestly feel that gossiping every day and making a fuss over all that nonsense is really boring and very immature.

Pros

None, the benefits are exactly the same as those for part-time workers. There are none at all.

Cons

E-commerce department manager

Doesn't know how to handle things.

When you raise an issue with him:

1. He pushes it off onto the company.

2. He just spreads his hands and says there's nothing he can do either.

3. He keeps going around in circles.

A textbook case of taking credit for achievements and dodging responsibility for mistakes.

Habitually makes empty promises.

He always makes things sound great when talking to you,

but what is actually implemented is completely different from what he said.

There is absolutely no system in place.

The so-called system is simply changing whatever he feels like changing that day,

repeatedly contradicting himself.

He also looks at whether you're the type of person he likes

and gives you special treatment.

Those who make a fuss get what they want.

He is never aware of what is going on.

Changing things just for the sake of changing them.

What he does most often is say, "Let's try it this way for now."

Then, when he finds it doesn't work, he changes everything back to the way it was.

No one understands his logic.

Every time, he says we should "make a spreadsheet" and uses it to pick fights with people,

but he always ends up getting thoroughly humiliated.

He keeps doing meaningless things that only make him contradict himself.

Pros

You can try on new shoes first when they arrive.

If you want to buy them, you can reserve them yourself first.

Cons

Exploitative, with all sorts of unreasonable demands.

Also quite an impersonal company.
