Read the community guidelinesOn Fridays, the company provides lunch costing up to 100. If that counts as a benefit.
The company mainly focuses on print design for the banking industry. There are essentially only three people there: the owner, the owner's wife, and a relative with a mild physical and mental disability.
Because the company is very small and the environment is closed-off, the owner likes to pry into employees' private lives. At first, he asks in a concerned tone, "Have you been doing okay lately? Is anything troubling you?" He also privately probes one employee about another employee's personal affairs. After finding out, he starts loudly discussing in the office how you must be the way you are to have these kinds of troubles~ When inviting friends over or when the person concerned is not present, he treats these matters as conversation for casual gossip.
The owner's wife likes to shirk responsibility and, because she is quite old, is forgetful. When she forgets something, she says, "How could I have made a mistake? It must be that we forgot," so several people need to be present to prove their innocence whenever something happens; otherwise, it is considered your fault.
The job sounded very appealing during the interview, but there is no overtime pay for working late on weekdays. The company needs to accommodate the banks' schedules; January, April, July, and October are the peak months for banks to submit materials for review. In addition to regular graphic layout work, employees must also proofread bank-related text. If you do not cooperate with overtime, the company will dismiss you. If the work cannot be finished, you will be required to work overtime on weekends, with overtime paid at 1.66 times the regular rate.
The company places a very strong emphasis on speed. The owner basically keeps accepting projects that do not match the available staffing, then stays in the office or walks around making sarcastic remarks and gossiping about other people's private lives. The owner's wife is very forgetful and shirks responsibility. Anyone considering working here should think carefully.
