Read the community guidelinesThe company listed in application 104 is called “Quanwei International,” but when I arrived for the interview, the interviewer told me that they were actually another company called “Yuanma Dong.” I was completely stunned. Quanwei International is a healthcare-related company, whereas Yuanma Dong is entirely a project-based outsourcing company (the interviewer said they take on all kinds of projects). The interviewer said this was their strategy: Quanwei helps them solicit business, but they would not have much contact with healthcare-related projects.
The interview consisted of some basic questions, an introduction to the company by the interviewer, and a presentation of one work sample that I thought I had done well and one that I thought I had not done well. Finally, I was asked to create a login page for a travel website on the spot within five minutes; they wanted to assess my visual aesthetics.
Throughout the process, they repeatedly emphasized that this position was more focused on visual design and would not involve UX planning or architecture. They also use a simple layout tool, so people who do not know how to code layouts can get up to speed quickly. Since the company is primarily focused on backend development and does not have many frontend engineers, designers are also expected to code the layouts.
Work environment: Yuanma Dong is located in a building near Taipei Main Station. The building is old, with many small rooms on an entire floor occupied by various companies. Yuanma Dong is one of them, and it is very small in scale.
I don’t know why they use another company as a front in a misleading way; it is very confusing for job seekers.
