Too many to count. Experience it yourself—it’s absolutely terrible.
Basically, the food you get at the construction site is a tiny bit better.
I worked as a designer’s assistant.
Salary: NT$28K in the first year, NT$33K in the second year
Working hours: From 8 a.m. until whenever at night
Job duties:
1. Everything has to wait for the boss’s decision. To put it plainly, the entire company has only one designer—the boss. Everyone else is a draftsman. Whether they’re a supervisor with 15 years of experience or a supervisor with 20 years of experience, their title may be designer, but they look like draftsmen.
2. As soon as you join the company, they send you to construction sites, claiming it’s to teach you construction-site management. You spend all day breathing dust; not to mention how hot it is in summer, it’s freezing cold in winter too. The chances of sitting in the office are extremely low.
3. You think you’re a designer?? Wrong!!! To put it bluntly, at this company you’re just a general laborer and site supervisor. From time to time, you also have to move heavy objects and drive a truck to deliver them to some warehouse or other. All the excess materials from those projects! Listen carefully! All of them! You and the others have to move them together!
