Read the community guidelinesAs soon as I sent my application, I immediately received an interview invitation. The HR department was efficient. When notifying me by phone, the supervisor was very kind and asked detailed questions about my qualifications for the job. Unfortunately, I was unable to join the company because my abilities were insufficient.
I am a recent graduate, and I applied for the position of graphic design assistant. According to the job bank listing, the company offered good pay. The job required the use of relevant design software. The test lasted 30 minutes and consisted of more than 60 intelligence-test questions. There was no practical test involving the relevant design software, which was acceptable, but the overall process seemed odd for the position.
After the test, the supervisor asked another employee to chat with me. The process was very disorganized, and they did not mention overtime pay or the leave policy. Immediately after the interview, they told me that I had passed and been hired. I did not think much of it at the time and immediately agreed, but I told the company that I could start in about two weeks. They kindly reminded me to bring my bankbook and personal seal, but everything was agreed to verbally, with no written notification.
Then, four days before my start date, they called and said, “I have some bad news for you. The company is currently reallocating its staff and does not need any more employees.” I felt that they did not really respect the interviewee.
Great, there really aren't any drawbacks.
