Pros

The pay is good; even an ordinary construction-site administrative position can earn over 40,000 at the entry level.

Cons

The company is currently very small, with fewer than 100 employees. Its systems are inadequate and rely on personal discretion.

There is no clocking in or out. Overtime is mandatory, and attendance is recorded by signature.

They pressure people into working overtime by saying that everyone works overtime. There are only six days off per month.

The construction-site administrator has more authority than the supervisor and can arbitrarily reduce other employees’ official leave, disregarding the protections in the company employee handbook.

The company administrator can secretly take time off and alter records to conceal the fact that they were not actually at work. When this is reported to the supervisor, the supervisor simply says that it is enough as long as the administrator gets the work done.

However, administrative documents pile up and are often not issued until a week later. The administrator spends work hours chatting on the phone at the site office, does not replenish consumables such as stationery and whiteboard markers, requires engineers to purchase them themselves, and does not allow them to be charged to the company account.

They put a positive spin on it by claiming that they are saving the company money, covering up the fact that the administrator personally wants to be lazy and avoid working.

The administrator apparently cannot be fired; I hear this way of doing things has continued for more than two years.

If you want the experience of having lots of tasks, being given a hard time, and being driven crazy, you can work at this company.

Alternatively, avoid construction sites where this administrator is present.
