Read the community guidelinesEasy to take leave
An uncommendable foreign-worker brokerage company.
I could probably go on listing the disadvantages for three days and three nights without finishing.
I hope anyone reading this can get away quickly.
The turnover is very high, and the workplace is dirty and rundown—cockroaches and rats, you name it.
No one cleans; they just leave it to get dirty.
The benefits system is as bad as it could possibly be. When you first join, you have to sign a written undertaking stipulating that NT$500 will be deducted from your monthly salary as savings, and it will only be returned two months after you leave. Of course, no additional interest is paid. They say that if you work there for five years, they will return double the amount. On top of that, nearly NT$400 is deducted each month as a welfare fee, which is far beyond the proportion permitted under the Labor Standards Act! And there are no real benefits either—basically, they occasionally share offerings from religious ceremonies every few months. The boss probably invests all the employees’ savings.
The boss is so wealthy—probably with assets approaching NT$100 million—but is unbelievably stingy. The computers are extremely old; some new employees still get computers running Windows XP.
The computer equipment is extremely slow, and they never upgrade it. Whatever you need, they don’t have.
During the initial interview, the boss paints you a rosy picture, saying that administrative staff can eventually earn a salary of up to NT$40,000, with bonuses for taking over migrant workers or processing their entry into the country. But boss, I’ve worked there for several years. No matter how much extra work I do—overtime is the norm—I haven’t received a single cent in bonuses. There is no overtime pay either.
If you discuss your salary with the boss, you’ll probably be blacklisted. If you bring up anything he doesn’t like to hear, he says you have poor emotional management and are hysterical, affecting everyone’s mood at work.
The managers’ logic is also very problematic. They like to talk about a bunch of nonsense in meetings without getting to the point, sometimes spending half a day in meetings saying things that make people feel ridiculous.
They criticize the high employee turnover without considering that the company’s entire operating system is seriously flawed.
