To put it nicely, the position is called a maintenance engineer, but in practice, you spend almost all your time doing manual labor at construction sites in southern Taiwan, performing nonstop physical work from morning to night. You have to eat the same nutritionally poor food as the senior technician, and if you do not join in buying food, you have nothing to eat (the senior technician does not care whether you are hungry). If you need to rest, you have to go to sleep on your own without saying anything. They also do not care whether you have the strength to carry heavy objects or the ability to climb up high to perform maintenance. They simply work employees like dogs. In addition, the labor insurance coverage the boss provides for you is based on the minimum wage, despite the higher actual salary (underreporting wages).
