Cons

On my first day, there were zero people in the office (the supervisor and section manager were away on business), and no one showed me the ropes at all. The computer didn’t even have CAD; it had some mainland Chinese drafting software I had never heard of. As a result, I had no idea what to do on my first day, and no one told me what tasks I was supposed to handle. The section manager came in on the second day but disappeared immediately, so I couldn’t find an opportunity to ask anything. The boss called the office and told me to find the drawings for a certain machine, but no one had given me any instructions whatsoever—I couldn’t even find anyone to talk to all day. How was I supposed to know where they were kept? After I finally found them, the boss told me to modify a certain area. The key drawings were completely locked (and the software wasn’t even a standard CAD program that students would normally have experience with), so I couldn’t edit them, and I didn’t know where the original files were stored. From start to finish, it was an eight-person office, yet there were zero people there every day, and no one assigned me anything. There was simply no one to ask. At the end of the day, the boss gave me 1,500 and told me not to come back the next day, even implying that I wasn’t capable enough and should find another job. After leaving me alone at my desk for two days without giving me any instructions, he still had the nerve to insult me. The quality often found in traditional manufacturing companies like this really opened my eyes as a recent graduate at the time. It was truly absurd. This happened one or two years ago. My current job is going very smoothly, and looking back now, I can only think that this was truly an absurd company and boss.
