Read the community guidelinesYou can hone your professional skills. As long as you stay at this company for three months, you are guaranteed to review and learn new things, because the company clerk knows nothing, and the boss’s wife is also uninformed but loves to interfere. Therefore, whenever anything happens, you have to explain it carefully and break through layer after layer of obstacles before achieving results that could be handled with a single phone call at another company.
There is no overtime pay for working beyond scheduled hours, and no salary compensation for unused leave that should have been taken. Every two weeks, meetings at the company are filled with pointless talk. The employee uniforms are unattractive, uncomfortable, and extremely expensive. Before starting work, prepare some money as petty cash because you often need to buy materials for immediate use yourself. However, the company requires you to pay upfront, and when you later submit a reimbursement claim, they will deliberately make things difficult by asking you to clarify and explain everything and submit a written report in response.
The year-end bonus is approximately 1.5–2 months’ salary.
Only people with titles, such as department heads and managers, probably have a chance of receiving the full amount.
Back-office staff and engineers can only silently drool with envy.
There are occasional, unscheduled group meals.
Gift boxes are often given during the three major festivals and fruit seasons.
It is a company that is very thoughtful about observing social courtesies.
1. The culture is rather traditional, but small and medium-sized businesses are generally like this, so it’s not worth worrying too much about.
2. Although the company has various management positions, such as department heads, deputy managers, and managers,
in practice, not much authority is delegated to supervisors.
Many decisions still rest with the boss or the boss’s wife,
or everything has to be reported to upper management in great detail—even reimbursement requests for a few hundred dollars in petty cash.
These things alone can easily lead to dissatisfaction and disputes among employees and contractors.
The resulting problems cannot be resolved behind the scenes either.
(After all, supervisors have no decision-making authority, let alone the ability to negotiate solutions.)
This is what people who have worked there consider to be a particularly difficult aspect of the job.
