Read the community guidelinesThe interview experience was quite good, and the environment was very nice. The owner is a foreigner, and the owner’s wife is Taiwanese and serves as the company’s general manager. The company was probably founded by the owner’s wife’s family, and everyone was very nice. The foreign owner looked very strong and energetic. Young people interested in the candy manufacturing industry could consider taking on the challenge. It was quite unusual—I've hardly ever seen a foreigner or immigrant serving as the owner or even a manager in a traditional manufacturing company.
I didn’t notice any particular shortcomings during the interview. Since the owner is a foreigner, communicating with him at work may frequently require English. If your English is limited to basic conversation, you may not be well suited for a position handling the company’s business.
However, the owner seems to speak Mandarin as well, and his Mandarin is quite standard. After all, he married a Taiwanese woman and has lived in Taiwan for so long; it’s just that he may still be more accustomed to using English at work.
