Read the community guidelinesFrom a sales perspective:
1. Arrive at the company and clock in before 8:30 a.m.; clock out when leaving the company.
2. Freedom; your location is not strictly tracked.
From a sales perspective:
1. In addition to handling calls from your own customers, you also have to answer the company’s phone because the sales assistants are busy preparing orders.
2. If a dispute arises regarding a quotation, you usually have to pay out of your own pocket to appease the customer; the company will not support you.
3. The company’s warehouse and computers do not have a complete inventory system; everything relies on people’s memory.
4. As a result, it is very common for the computer system to show that an item is in stock, only for it to be unavailable when a customer wants to order it.
5. The company is a family business. The owner’s thinking is primarily traditional, making it relatively difficult for them to accept new directions in the market.
6. Although products are covered by a one- or two-year warranty, on-site repairs are handled by the sales staff themselves. (The company says this is so salespeople will know where the problem lies.)
7. If you interview with the owner’s wife, she may give you vague answers. For example, if you ask how performance-based bonuses are calculated, she will tell you that the amount differs depending on the region and circumstances.
8. As mentioned above, the standards are actually the same for every region. Salespeople covering more distant areas have to perform multiple roles: delivering goods, promoting products, delivering invoices, and collecting payments themselves.
9. The owner believes that salespeople should build personal relationships with customers. Therefore, if you cover areas south of Taoyuan or east of Yilan and the highway is congested at 5:30 p.m., it is considered better to stay at the customer’s location and continue building rapport, then return later.
10. When a new policy is announced in a meeting, the version stated by the owner at the end usually prevails. The old and new versions are often less than a week apart, with policies changing constantly.
Conclusion: This is a sunset-industry company that promotes an LED-oriented philosophy but remains stuck in traditional ways. Becoming wealthy here is impossible, but at least you will not starve. Coming here is essentially a test of your mental resilience, because you will encounter all kinds of customers, including those who try to take advantage of small benefits. Be mentally prepared to pay out of your own pocket at any time.
