The boss suddenly informed the employee that they would work until the end of that day and did not need to come to work the following day, which violated the Labor Standards Act: when an employer terminates an employment contract with a worker, the worker must be given notice within the legally prescribed period.
The employee was also not paid severance pay or other related fees, nor provided with a certificate of involuntary separation.
Afterward, when the employee made requests and raised objections, the boss did not take any action.
During the interview, employees were also required to sign a written undertaking stating that they had to give two months’ notice before resigning, which also violated the Labor Standards Act.
