The insured salary for labor and health insurance is underreported. There is no overtime pay, and the year-end bonus is fixed at only one month. There have never been any salary increases. The benefits for the three major festivals are usually fruit, though there are sometimes bonuses. Employee trips are not held every year. There is a very serious seniority system in the office, and employees are easily ordered to do tasks unrelated to their professional duties, such as washing air-conditioner filters and scrubbing floors. Basic tasks like cleaning the toilets, sweeping, and taking out the trash are also required.
There are no windows facing outside, so the air quality is poor. Coworkers often cough without wearing masks. Although the scheduled lunch break is one hour, it is basically only 20–30 minutes.
