Read the community guidelinesGood environment, lots of food and drinks provided, and the boss is a nice person.
Since 2023, there has been a newly appointed male design supervisor.
He has absolutely no experience managing people, and there were no designers under him.
I was treated as the first guinea pig.
During the interview, it was conducted very quickly, and I was told, “You’re okay—being able to do 2D is enough.”
I also explained what I could and couldn’t do during the interview.
But once I actually started working, I was questioned about how I could not know how to do anything.
For a small event for 100 people, I created five key visuals, and all of them were rejected.
I was questioned: “You know how to find reference images, right??”
I thought, fine—since he wasn’t satisfied with anything,
I asked whether he could handle creating the key visuals in the future while I took care of resizing.
But he angrily asked me why he should do my work for me.
As a designer, would I not want to create the key visuals myself?
But you were so dissatisfied with my design abilities.
Did you expect me to create five key visuals for every event for you to review?
The final decision is really in the client’s hands, okay?
In short, he is a design supervisor with an extremely inflated sense of himself.
He is also extremely sparing with words and ignores people.
On my first day at work, I was left sitting there without even being greeted or given any instructions.
Whether he has ability but does not know how to manage people, or simply does not want to manage them, is unknown.
Then the boss’s wife was unusually indifferent.
When I said I was leaving, she didn’t even look at me and simply said, “Okay.”
I blame myself for being too foolish and failing to judge people properly.
I strongly recommend not going to this company to be treated as disposable labor.
