Pros

You can leave work on time. Once you finish your tasks, you can do your own thing. You can learn many things (miscellaneous tasks). With little money and lots of work, your patience will increase. The year-end bonus is small, the base salary is low enough, and there are no raises even after working there for a long time. It lets you experience the workplace culture after entering society.

Cons

This company is near Nanjing Fuxing Station and is, to say the least, a well-known company in the industry. A family member worked there for several years, and I heard that the annual raise was only NT$500..... The boss fills their own pockets, but what about the employees? Who cares about you? Also, newcomers are disposable chopsticks: once they have been used, the boss will not try to retain them. Just look at the annual raise and you will know what your salary will be several years from now (the base salary remains low year after year). The company really likes hiring recent engineering and science graduates (especially from private universities; perhaps people think they are not as good as graduates from the top four universities, so receiving this kind of salary is fairly okay—but absolutely do not think that way). The company’s attitude is basically that if an employee resigns, they can just hire another one, since there are new graduates every year. You can learn a great deal there (though what you learn is another matter). If you are not an employee favored by the boss, you are doomed: you will end up with a pile of tasks. Employees who have stayed a long time usually respond to new assignments by saying, “I don’t know how,” and after the boss thinks it over, the tasks end up in your hands.

I’m not an employee! I’ve seen how a family member has worked at this company for quite a long time—measured in years—and I strongly advise capable newcomers: if you want to develop your abilities in the workplace while also doing miscellaneous tasks, come on in!

By the way, the boss also lets employees take foreign-language classes and hires a foreign-language teacher (Japanese), with the company subsidizing the classes. You can work hard and pass a certification exam. Aside from that, you will be taking on several roles at once, and the boss will not appreciate it. Being able to leave work on time is pretty great, but whenever something happens, everyone is quick to disappear. Think carefully before joining!

Young people today, study hard to improve your foreign-language skills and strengthen your expertise in your major, so that you can find a better job.
