The colleagues are all very nice and willing to support one another with whatever work is needed.

The boss is indecisive and does not know what he wants. When I was hired, it was originally agreed that I would handle store operations and recruitment, but later, during a one-on-one meeting, he actually said, “I hired you to do marketing, not store operations.”

Later on, he even kept asking us to learn courses outside our fields, such as highly specialized skills like programming languages. He made it sound nice by saying, “You all need to evolve!” Put bluntly, he did not have the money to hire engineers and wanted to get one person to do the work of many for a low salary. In addition to the discrepancies in the job duties, he had absolutely no idea how enormous the workload at the store was. When we were extremely busy, he never knew or wanted to know what we were busy with. But when he was hungry, we had to stop whatever work we were doing to buy him a bento from far away, and we even had to front several thousand dollars before he would reimburse us.

The days off were advertised as “7+1.” Even setting aside the fact that this is illegal, on the +1 day, we still had to work after going to a temple and attending a meeting, which effectively meant having only seven days off a month. On election days, we had to use hours from previously accrued compensatory leave to go vote, then continue working after voting, and we were not legally paid the required wages for working on election day. No overtime pay was provided unless the boss specifically asked us to stay and assist; otherwise, overtime was returned as compensatory leave, with no right to choose.

As for the bonuses and leave for the three major holidays, of course, we got none of them.
