At the headquarters of Curves, the 30-minute fitness program for women, many coaches were absent during the pandemic after testing positive, causing staff shortages. As a result, the stores continued operating as usual, and the coaches worked to the point that they had no opportunity to rest. A headquarters executive said that they had indeed handled many lawsuits involving franchise owners. However, in practice, there were still many franchise owners whose cases were not handled by headquarters. The franchise owner I worked for was one of those whose case was not handled.
