When I first joined this company, I thought the work environment was pretty good. But later I found that the atmosphere among the colleagues didn't seem very good. They didn't teach me anything, and without explaining the key points, they expected me to produce results. During meetings, I saw one or two other colleagues asking questions about work-related issues, but it seemed that even the supervisor and some senior employees didn't really dare to speak up. The few new colleagues who raised questions were singled out, so later I didn't dare to speak up either. In any case, it didn't seem like anyone was actually dealing with the problems. The performance pressure was really intense. They expected people to deliver results without explaining anything, and even required us to work overtime to do so, without paying extra. They didn't treat employees well either. The work itself had no clear focus, but there were a whole lot of rules about daily routines. To put it bluntly, they deduct as much as they can—it's basically just cheating and taking advantage of people.
I can't think of any advantages.
At first, this company tells you that even people with no prior experience start at a little over NT$20,000. But after you join, they deduct money for all sorts of things. You have to arrive ten minutes early, otherwise it is counted as being late. There are a bunch of rules about everyday conduct—in short, they deduct money for anything you can think of. The most outrageous thing is that one day of unexcused absence results in a NT$4,000 deduction, and even taking leave for a legitimate reason gets you docked NT$1,000. The key point is that you don't learn anything, the workplace atmosphere is terrible, and they are harsh toward employees. All I can say is, rather than working there, you might as well take any other job—it would probably pay more than this. Meetings have no substance, and when you raise issues, they treat you as if you don't exist. They even drag their feet over ordering boxed lunches. They say they provide labor insurance, but they don't comply with the Labor Standards Act.
