Read the community guidelinesThe company had just been renovated in August 2017, so it was fairly new. That's the only advantage.
I applied for the MIS Assistant Engineer position.
Even though they clearly knew the applicant's resume and areas of expertise, they kept asking what I couldn't do and repeatedly emphasized that I couldn't do anything.
They were simply trying to suppress your salary and belittle you.
I asked for a salary of 32,000 for the Assistant Engineer position, and they looked extremely displeased. Hehe. The interview was on August 10. The company was scheduled to begin operations in September, yet it was still looking for IT engineers. This shows that they keep trying to hire people at low salaries. Anyone considering going there should be cautious. Reject low salaries—we all have a responsibility.
The company feels comfortable.
The receptionist was very polite and beautiful.
The HR staff and interviewer both looked very young.
I interviewed for a MIS assistant engineer position.
I asked for 32,000.
The interviewer said that, if they decided to hire me,
I could find out as early as tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
There was no need to wait as long as seven days.
I thought that was pretty good.
As expected, I received an offer the next day.
The salary was also a little higher than expected,
but in the end, I still decided to return to Taichung for work.
The interview was a little long, and I wasn't informed in advance.
It would have been better if I had been told beforehand.
The company is in East District, Hsinchu City, near the city government, so transportation is fairly convenient.
I did not apply for the job myself; the company contacted me and invited me to come for an interview.
The position I looked at was Live Video Monitoring Specialist (奕智博TC-02).
I went for the interview last Wednesday. At first, I went to the company's office on the 6th floor of the building (6F, No. 106, Zhongyang Road, East District, Hsinchu City).
They had told me over the phone to press the doorbell downstairs and say that I had come for an interview.
Then I took the elevator to the 6th floor. After I arrived,
I saw a man who took me into the company to find the receptionist. The receptionist then took me to the meeting room,
and handed me a résumé form to fill out.
There were also some multiple-choice questions on the back of the résumé form. You just selected whichever options matched you.
After I finished filling it out, I gave it to her.
Then she asked me to return to the meeting room and wait for the interviewer.
I waited for about 10 minutes, and started to feel a little bored.
Another 10 minutes passed before someone from HR came to interview me.
She told me that the main responsibilities of this job were: 1. Monitoring live-streaming platform videos and handling alerts.
2. Recording and reporting video issues on the live-streaming platform.
3. Good communication and execution skills, with teamwork ability preferred.
It was basically the same as the job description on 104.
Basically, you watch the screen to check whether there are any problems and whether the videos play smoothly online.
She then told me that this job uses a three-shift system.
You rotate shifts once a month. For example, if you work the morning shift in your first month, you work the afternoon shift the next month, followed by the night shift.
The working hours are:
Morning shift: 06:00–15:00
Afternoon shift: 14:00–23:00
Night shift: 22:00–07:00
She also told me the salary was around NT$25,000, and that there would be shift allowances for the afternoon and night shifts.
It means you rotate through every shift.
I thought about it and said, “Hmm... okay.”
After all, I had just graduated and did not have much work experience.
Then she asked the supervisor to come interview me.
I waited another 10 or so minutes.
A person around my age came to interview me.
Wait, wasn’t a supervisor supposed to interview me?
The person interviewing me said that he had only started working there in August.
That meant he had only been there for about three months.
I thought to myself: After only three months, he could already be a supervisor?
Is that really........ hmm.
Okay, fine.
Anyway, we just chatted for a while.
He told me to introduce myself. After I did, he asked whether I had any questions.
I said I didn’t think so.
Then he explained his side of things....
When I was leaving, he told me that he hoped to see me again,
and said that I had been hired.
Later, I received the employment offer last Thursday afternoon. Yes, I was hired after only one day.
They asked me to open a bank account and get a medical examination first.
But damn it, I didn’t have time to take care of those things on Friday!
By the time Thursday came around, the banks had already closed, and I also couldn’t get the medical examination done.
So, stupidly, I didn’t get the medical examination until Monday.
Because Monday was the reporting date.
Yes! Yesterday!!
Then I went for the medical examination and opened the bank account.
Beforehand, I called someone at the company, explained who I was, and said that I was supposed to report for work that day. I asked whether I could change the date and report the next day instead.
The person on the phone told me that HR had not started work yet and that they would pass the message on once HR arrived.
Then I did not receive a call until 1 p.m.
The person on the phone told me that I had not shown up to report for work that day, so my onboarding had been canceled.
I called the company and asked whether I could report for work the next day instead.
The person on the phone said they would pass the message on to HR.
And the result?
My onboarding was canceled, and I lost the job.
The time and money I spent opening the bank account and getting the medical examination were wasted.
The medical examination alone cost more than NT$1,300.
This company really gave me a terrible impression. I asked whether my reporting date could be postponed,
and they couldn’t even let me start on another day?
Didn’t they say they were recruiting 1,000 people? From what I saw, there might not even be 100 employees in the company......
It’s a good thing I never actually went to work there.
After seeing people share their experiences here before, it felt like this was not an okay company.
Thank goodness!! Amitabha, Amitabha.
This temple isn’t somewhere I can stay, so I’ll go work at another shop.
