Read the community guidelines1. The supervisor and some of the colleagues are very nice and easy to get along with.
2. If you like being treated as cheap labor, this is a good place for you.
The pay is low and the benefits are poor, and there is an endless pile of miscellaneous tasks to deal with. This is completely a company with no prospects—it only makes empty promises from time to time. Previously, they said they would issue performance bonuses. Although they were not much, at least it seemed the company was changing. But after failing to pay them three times, they simply announced that they were canceled. It was unbelievably frustrating. Originally, operators had only one inspection task, but later they were inexplicably assigned a pile of miscellaneous duties. Adding work would not be a problem if they also discussed adding pay, but they simply do not increase the pay, exploiting employees instead. There were even two people doing the same work, yet the less capable one could earn 1,000 more than the other.
There is also one vendor that keeps treating the company as an ATM. The materials they deliver are very poor, and there are always numerous problems during IQC, yet you are expected to turn defective materials into works of art. The specifications are never clearly explained either; everything depends on the vendor's owner's mood. I reported the specification issues to the boss several times, but nothing ever came of it—how am I supposed to work under these conditions? The bosses clearly know about all the problems mentioned above, yet they continue accepting the vendor's business and allowing the company to be treated as an ATM. Then they blame employees for not doing their jobs properly and issue disciplinary warnings.
The disciplinary system is completely unfair as well. Employees favored by the bosses can make major mistakes and get away with merely writing an incident report (like a letter of repentance), and may even get promoted. Ordinary employees, on the other hand, receive a work-improvement notice (like a demerit; three notices result in immediate dismissal), as well as a disciplinary warning, deductions from three holiday bonuses, and deductions from their year-end bonus.
Labor-management meetings are held periodically. In name, they are meetings about the rights and interests of both labor and management; in reality, they are meetings about management's interests. Many rules are changed whenever management feels like it, without discussing them with employees. Basically, it is like a meeting in a certain country where opposing voices are not allowed.
Simply put, this workplace is full of landmines. If you are deemed unsuitable, they may tell you after work not to come in the next day, and they are even very fond of exploiting loopholes in the Labor Standards Act.
A good place to train your EQ and stress tolerance
During the interview, they said this was a branch office and that the head office was in Taoyuan.
In reality, this is a small contract manufacturing factory with about 10 employees, run by a married couple. There is basically no head office.
The company has very little structure. Work rules, procedures, benefits, and many other things are constantly changing.
The boss and the boss's wife often disagree. If you follow the boss's instructions, the boss's wife will object; if you follow the boss's wife's instructions, the boss will object.
The boss's wife and the accountant are very emotional. They shout loudly when others make mistakes, but pretend nothing happened when they make mistakes themselves.
As for the warehouse management position, basically any miscellaneous task gets thrown to the warehouse manager. The boss and his wife believe that, since you are in charge of the warehouse, you are responsible for anything remotely related to it, so you often end up taking the blame for other people's mistakes for no apparent reason.
Their assistant worker position is actually not much different from an operator's. The work is tedious and monotonous, with little future, and the pay is not particularly high, since this is only a small contract manufacturing company. Think carefully before applying.
