Read the community guidelinesThe interviewer said the company is actually quite willing to offer competitive compensation, but I didn’t really get that impression from my interview.
The workplace is very remote, and the compensation isn’t particularly attractive. Basically, it’s just as written on the job board:
Base salary of 24K + a daily meal allowance of $80,
After completing the three-month probationary period, +$1,000 perfect-attendance bonus,
Salary adjustments thereafter based on performance,
Working hours are 8 to 5 (but overtime is fairly routine).
You have to clock in before 8:00. Clocking in exactly at 8:00 counts as being late,
and $5 is deducted for every minute. Clocking in at 8:30 counts as taking half a day of personal leave.
Whether you’re late or take personal leave, you lose the perfect-attendance bonus.
The year-end bonus is paid in three installments around the three major holidays, also based on performance. The amount varies from person to person, and they openly state that they cannot guarantee the three installments will add up to the equivalent of one month’s salary. (It depends on performance—that whole system—and not seniority. But if you haven’t been there for a full year, then… you know.)
