Read the community guidelinesInterviewed position: Administrative and General Affairs Assistant
Interviewers: The Japanese general manager and a Taiwanese sales representative
There are only four people in the entire company. The company outsources its bookkeeping to an external accounting firm, so the general affairs workload is actually quite light (according to the interviewer). General affairs work accounts for roughly 70–80% of the position, with the remainder consisting of sales assistance and serving as the general manager’s secretary. However, since most sales are handled by agents, the company does not have many direct customers. The secretary-related duties involve helping with miscellaneous matters for the general manager. Occasionally, people from the Japanese headquarters come on business trips, so the position may involve helping arrange hotels and transportation. The interviewer said that this position actually has a lot of free time, and during that time employees can propose things they would like to learn, such as knowledge related to the company’s products. I heard that overtime is uncommon.
The above is all based on what the interviewer said; I’m not sure what the actual situation is.
The salary listed on 104 appears to be NT$34,000–37,000. Oh, and the year-end bonus is four months’ salary (the interviewer said it has been four months in recent years).
The interviewers were very nice overall. The general manager seemed easy to communicate with and not like the very rigid, traditional type of Japanese manager.
The conversation during the interview felt quite pleasant.
The job responsibilities may be somewhat varied, but it should be a better fit for people who enjoy having variety in their work.
Also, because the company has few employees, when the sales representative is away, you may need to help answer customer phone calls and so on.
However, since I did not actually join the company, I’m not sure what the real situation is.
