During the interview, they demanded that I report to work immediately the next day because they were urgently short-staffed.

I showed up the next day, but after working until around 11 a.m., I was called into the office and told to leave.

They gave me NT$500 in wages to send me away, claiming that a former employee wanted to come back to work.

It was obviously a lie, because people were still coming in for interviews throughout the day of my interview and the following day when I started work.

They must have found someone better and immediately dismissed me.

If that was the case, why were they in such a hurry during the interview and insisting that I report the next day? Couldn't they take their time selecting someone?

If you don't want to get screwed over, you might want to consider applying to this company.

Pros

Sometimes there isn’t much to do, but I wouldn’t consider that an advantage.

Drink tea every day.

Cons

1. Small-company culture—the boss has the final say, and decisions change constantly.

2. No year-end bonus. I didn’t have employer pension contributions at the time, so remember to ask about this during the interview.

3. Disrespectful of professional expertise.

Cons

The position is for a graphic designer/editor.

The boss made no preparations regarding the applicant’s background, portfolio, design style, or areas of expertise.

Although it is a graphic design position, the job duties include many other miscellaneous tasks,

such as auction support and customer service.

The probationary period is three months, with no clear performance evaluation system.

Salary adjustments are only made after completing one full year.

Those interested in applying may want to think it over carefully.

In addition, I don’t think the offered salary of NT$27,000 can be considered good either.

There are two days off per week, and holidays are observed for the three major festivals, but all other public holidays are not days off.

When asked why, the reason given was, “The boss thinks there’s no need to take those days off. For example, I don’t even know what the point of taking February 28 off is.”

No meals provided.
