Pros

All of my colleagues were very friendly, and the boss had the best temper in the world.

Cons

The company did not have a contract; everything was based on verbal agreements. After the boss had hired me, he changed his mind and called me two days before my agreed-upon start date to reduce my salary. By then, I had already moved from Taipei to Taichung for them, rented a place, and signed a one-year lease, so I had no choice but to reluctantly agree.

Originally, it was agreed that although the salary would be reduced, I would receive overtime pay. However, unbeknownst to me, this company had serious issues with compensatory leave. At the time, the boss took the opportunity to say, “If overtime comes with overtime pay, should we deduct money for compensatory leave?” To avoid having money deducted, I had no choice but to give up my overtime pay. The company also clawed back all the overtime pay it had previously given me in one deduction, causing my monthly salary in one month to be less than 20,000. This experience was truly awful...

Furthermore, after I became ill with acute otitis externa and took one day off to see a doctor, I was immediately warned that I might not be suitable for this company and that the boss would have to observe me further. The boss liked employees to arrive early, clock in, and then continue working overtime...

I am now considering leaving this company. The company repeatedly goes back on its agreements, which is extremely frustrating.
