The working environment at CNC is poor. The workplace is filled with oil mist, and no air extraction or ventilation equipment has been installed, so employees have to wear masks for long periods. Furthermore, the company was inspected by the labor authorities for violating the Labor Standards Act and was even fined. The violations included: overtime pay not being calculated accurately, underreporting high salaries for insurance purposes, annual leave not being granted in full, salary deductions made without consent, restructuring salary components, and placing employees on unpaid leave without notifying the labor bureau. Although the labor bureau has provided guidance and the company has tried to improve these violations, employees should still pay close attention. Anyone considering joining this company should ask as specifically as possible during the interview about the basic salary, allowances, overtime-pay calculations, bonuses paid during the three major festivals, annual leave, and other terms, in order to ensure that they receive the salary and benefits to which they are entitled. If you discover any violation of the Labor Standards Act, do not tolerate it silently—report it immediately if possible to protect your rights. Choosing to remain silent will only make the working environment worse.
