Read the community guidelinesI applied for the Douliu Japanese Translator/Quality Assurance Assistant position. Before the interview, I had to fill out the company’s standard résumé form and list three colleagues from previous jobs. The interviewer first introduced the company and themselves, then explained the job duties in detail—for example, sometimes helping in a cleanroom. During the interview, I was asked to introduce myself in Japanese and interpret the questions and answers exchanged between the Japanese interviewer and the Taiwanese staff member. They notify applicants regardless of whether they are hired.
The year-end bonus is equivalent to two months’ salary. I was asked how much I expected to earn annually...
Overall, I had a good impression of the interview. The Japanese interviewer was very thorough and asked detailed questions about my résumé.
The HR representative also seemed very nice and attentive. The company environment as a whole looked good.
Because the salary I proposed was already below the market rate (I have more than three years of work experience, a Level 1 certification, and study-abroad experience, and requested a salary of NT$32,000), the interviewer hoped that I would accept less than my requested amount.
