Pros

This is the well-known lemon tart shop 一事製菓 on the internet.

It was formerly 『我思・私宅甜點』.

The advantages are listed below:

1. The owner is a very nice person, and colleagues get along well. Since there are currently few employees, there are no issues with factional infighting either.

2. Desserts are very cheap at the employee price—almost cost price, in fact. But this is pretty much the only employee benefit; don't expect anything else.

3. Almost nothing is deducted from the salary for labor and health insurance; you receive exactly what was negotiated.

4. The organization is flat; as long as a proposal to the owner is reasonable, you can implement it directly without going through layer after layer of approval... but... (listed under the disadvantages)

5. As long as you finish the work within your responsibilities, taking leave will not be made difficult.

6. Soho work is accepted, but only because there is no place for you in the office. Naturally, there will not be a computer for you either. There is nothing available, so you can only figure things out yourself.

Cons

I was the company's first full-time marketing hire, and I was probably also the first employee laid off after the name change.

Because there are so few employees, it is easy to tell who is who. The purpose of posting this here is to let the owner know which areas should be improved.

The disadvantages are listed below:

1. The owner is very poor at managing the company's finances and lacks the ability to use funds effectively (this seems to have contributed to the first time the business shut down as well).

The reason I was fired: moving to a new location required installing three-phase power, which would cost a large amount of money.

This reason is infuriating and laughable. I have heard that moving offices is expensive... but aren't these things you should know after inspecting the site and evaluating the utilities?

The original job posting even said that there were currently some surplus funds available to hire more people. Looking back now, it is laughable.

2. The layoff notice was right at the legal minimum under the Labor Standards Act, which was very disrespectful. The owner even had to be reminded to report it to the labor bureau.

3. When there is a problem, the owner will not bring it up for discussion and will only use their status as the boss to pressure employees. What the owner says goes.

4. Those applying for a Marketing position should take note: the owner's wife is in charge of design. You cannot make her do anything; if she does not want to do something, she will simply ignore you, which means all your previous proposals are worthless. Once something is finished, she will not show it to you either, but will send it directly to print. The owner does not understand design but insists on being the point of contact, so you can only send things through the owner—and there is no guarantee that everything will be relayed accurately. The owner is not a designer but pretends to understand, and does not even know file formats: ask for a PSD and get an AI file; ask for an AI file and get a PNG. Editors, if you come here and cannot create your own materials, you will be miserable. The design guidelines are also whatever those two say goes, so take care.

4. The owner said that results would be reviewed once every week, but after reviewing them only once, said they were too busy to continue.

5. The owner initiated a group-buying promotion, causing orders to surge and throwing off the schedules of all projects. The website, which was halfway finished, had to be abruptly terminated with the partner because the owner and the designer had no time to test it or create the materials.

6. The owner is easily persuaded. They said they were going to place Line ads... but were also talked into buying an extra Yahoo! placement by a media salesperson. When was the last time any of you opened Yahoo?

7. The owner really dislikes reading messages and only replies to messages they consider important, so consumers' messages on the fan page will be left waiting forever.

8. Scheduled meetings are never on time.

9. The placement of the air conditioners in the Tianmu store is the most impressive I have ever seen.

Overall, as long as you suit the owner's tastes, you will be very happy here.

But there is not much room for growth here, unless the owner is willing to make sweeping reforms.

Otherwise, the road to becoming a million-dollar e-commerce business is a long one, and they can only struggle on with their die-hard fans.

Best wishes.
