Pros

They really do train you in barista-related work.

But I was simply too eager to point out the flaws, so I’ll add the pros when I’m in the mood.

Cons

Think twice before working for this company—think twice before working for this company, think twice before working for this company.

Consider carefully before joining this company. I don’t know about the ones in Taiwan, but they have expanded to Canada; perhaps through franchising or something—I don’t know.

But the point is, when this company isn’t busy, they’ll ask you to go home. Your wages? Of course they won’t pay you. Why would you need wages if they’re letting you go home to rest? Black-person-question-mark?

And what about the hourly wage? Of course, they don’t pay the legal minimum wage either. Instead, they add “tips,” and only by doing so can the wage barely reach the edge of the legal minimum.

So what if customers leave fewer tips today? If they leave fewer, that’s apparently my fault. We all have to weather difficult times together; without you, there would be no coffee shop, so just endure it. Maybe the customers will leave more tips tomorrow.

But basically, even at its highest, it won’t exceed the legal minimum wage by much.

All I can say is, they’ve taken this embarrassment overseas. Absolutely mind-boggling.
