Pros

Relatively close to the MRT station

Cons

1. Interview environment: 50 points

2. Management: 40 points

It was clearly the company that proactively sent the invitation, and the job posting did not specify many requirements. The applicant’s résumé did not indicate proficiency in a particular programming language, yet only upon arriving was the applicant told by the interviewer that they were not looking for this type of candidate.

A waste of other people’s time.

Pros

1. Almost always leave work on time (although I’ve been reprimanded for it, I still leave on time)

2. Snacks from time to time (the boss buys them only when they feel like eating)

3. Convenient transportation?

4. When the boss returns, there are free lunch boxes at noon (you have to eat with them)

5. Free coffee, tea, and toilet paper

6. It’s easy to take leave

Cons

Work environment:

1. All the computer equipment is old, so you need to make a habit of backing things up at any time.

2. The desks and chairs are also old. Employees have to clean the restroom and their work environment themselves.

Compensation and benefits:

1. Basically, you can only receive the amount you negotiate. If the company doesn’t make money, the year-end bonus is brushed off; there is only a Mid-Autumn Festival bonus, in a very “auspicious” amount.

2. Unless special leave is discussed in advance, the company uses a calendar-year system, so after completing one year, the 7 days become 6 days.

3. There have been three instances of delayed salary payments.

4. You need to check yourself whether labor and health insurance coverage began on the correct day, and there is also an issue of reporting a lower salary than the actual salary.

Job duties:

There are many miscellaneous tasks. Whatever projects are assigned to you, you do them, but they are repeatedly changed to an absurd extent—it’s constantly changing direction. In the end, even after completing the work, there is still no result (based on my personal experience). At present, everyone is probably expected to be ready for immediate deployment.

Other:

Every day when you arrive at and leave work, you have to report what you need to do and what you have completed. Every Friday, you also have to send the tasks for the following week, the weekly schedule, and the project progress report.

When the boss returns and has nothing scheduled at noon, they will ask everyone to eat lunch boxes together. The talk may be short and last 20 minutes, or it may last 2 hours, with absolutely no break.

During my time there, I saw more than a dozen people join and leave shortly afterward, and there were several labor disputes. Working there for half a year counts as being a veteran. Everyone who stays has their reasons, which I won’t go into, but they definitely did not survive because they were highly skilled.

This is absolutely not a technically strong company; it is very good at making grand promises. Basically, anything that looks somewhat promising is actually from other companies. I was misled during the interview and only discovered this later.

The company is frighteningly disorganized: there is not a single full-time accountant, so new employees’ salaries may be calculated incorrectly. I requested a payslip several times but received one only four or five times.

Interview:

Usually, regardless of the position, everyone is scheduled for interviews together. If the interview lasts 5 minutes, you will definitely be rejected; a longer interview probably means you have a good chance. They will definitely cut down your salary and say it will be increased after three months, but I have never seen anyone receive an increase. So if you really want the job, write a higher expected salary so that you can at least get a little more and feel less miserable. Also, when you ask about benefits, they will probably say they follow the Labor Standards Act—but judge for yourself whether the points above actually comply with it.

When people resign, the company may also withhold their salaries, and it even ended up going to court because mediation did not resolve the issue.

Advice:

Whether you’re a newcomer or an expert, don’t come here and waste your time. This is a company with no systems and no prospects. Consider carefully whether you want to go, and only come if you are genuinely having financial difficulties.

Pros

The company is located in central Taipei

Cons

Five people were interviewed at the same time, with less than five minutes allotted to each person.

It was extremely disrespectful to the interviewees.

They would have been better off conducting video interviews.

Also, the atmosphere in the office was rather strange and lacked energy.
