Pros

Only 7.5 working hours per day

Almost always leave work on time

The boss has a good attitude

Flexible work scheduling

Cons

The stated job title is merely for reference

Because the company has very few employees

Once you join, the scope of work covers just about everything—probably spanning the entire Taiwan Strait

You may need to be the boss’s assistant, occasionally translating documents or PowerPoint presentations in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean.

Often, even the supervisor doesn’t understand the situation. Whenever there’s a problem, you’re simply told to search for the answer yourself online, or given a vague remark like, “The information should be somewhere on the computer.”

You end up spending a lot of energy in the vast sea of information doing things very inefficiently.

Many tasks can only be figured out on your own, so your growth is slow. You need to handle many complicated, trivial tasks that provide little accumulated experience.

It feels like a waste of time—for example, helping the boss’s business partner design labels and stand-up signs for free-range chicken and salted chicken (What company am I actually working for?)

Finding quotes from sanitary tableware suppliers? Searching for knife manufacturers? A floor plan of the PS parking lot?

Laying out a friend’s business card for a charity organization or temple hall? In short, you’re responsible for anything you can think of—and anything you can’t.

The company environment is rather closed off, and the work atmosphere is very dull.

Most importantly, there is an inexplicable rule that being one minute late results in a NT$2,000 deduction from your perfect-attendance bonus.

You may also be asked to take packages that need to be shipped and mail them on your way home after work,

because there are only a few of them, so you shouldn’t use work hours to do it (?)

It sounds reasonable, but in fact it’s completely unreasonable.

People who want to train their emotional intelligence and develop a wide range of skills can come and experience it.

Pros

The boss is easy to communicate with. There isn’t a very obvious top-down tone between supervisors and employees, so conversations can be quite casual.

You take on multiple roles and learn many skills. In turn, you can also become very busy, as one person has to handle many tasks.

Cons

When I first joined the company, my main responsibilities were e-commerce and design.

The company has two departments: e-commerce and contract processing.

Over time, the company gradually shifted its focus toward processing.

I originally applied for a design position,

but later ended up working as a processing operator.

The difference from the original job description was too great.

The frequency and number of processing tasks eventually exceeded the design work,

and this continued for some time without improvement, so I resigned.
