Read the community guidelinesThe HR contact was friendly.
I arrived punctually at the agreed-upon time, but the boss was doing something else, so I waited about fifteen minutes before the interview started. He had not looked at my résumé beforehand at all: I applied for position A, but he kept asking questions about position B. It was only near the end of the interview that he said he had thought I was interviewing for position B. My résumé already stated my earliest available start date, but the boss asked again anyway, then said the date was too late because they were urgently hiring.
About a month later, HR called to say they couldn’t find anyone more suitable and invited me to a phone interview. The boss asked me to develop a product for one of their existing clients and wanted me to sign a confidentiality agreement, but did not make a salary offer. They said the PM would call within a week to explain the details, but of course that never happened.
