1. The boss’s wife has poor emotional management and frequently erupts into shouting. She cannot control herself even in front of outsiders, and also directly argues with her husband at the company. She brings her household emotions to work all day and throws things to vent whenever she is in a bad mood, as if she is afraid people might not know she is upset.
2. The boss’s wife calls an extension to ask about something, then slams down the receiver immediately after finishing. The sudden sound of the receiver being slammed down makes your ears hurt terribly. It is extremely disrespectful and rude.
3. The bonus system is extremely stringent. Previously, someone joked that the standards made it really difficult to receive a bonus, and the bosses just smiled and said, “Yes, bonuses are difficult to get at our company.”
4. The gifts for the year-end banquet are items the boss received as freebies from online shopping purchases—sooooo thoughtful.
5. The boss’s wife scolds employees in front of outside clients. Whenever there is some minor shortcoming that is already being handled, she still scolds the employee first for the client to see. Client contacts have even asked me, “Aren’t you from the same company? Who are you scolding there for everyone to see?”
6. They are extremely reluctant to spend money updating equipment. There was once a nearly 10-year-old small laptop—older than all the employees’ years of service—that lagged terribly and constantly ran out of battery. Everyone raised the issue many times, but they were still unwilling to replace it. During a previous event, the lecturer was giving a presentation, and the slides either would not advance or advanced several pages at once. The boss’s wife did not seem embarrassed at all!
7. Whenever going out, employees have to use their own phones’ mobile data to provide a hotspot for the company computer they take along. The boss considers this completely normal and constantly scolds people if the connection is a little slow.
8. My takeaway from working there: their own children are people, while other people’s children are dogs.
