Read the community guidelines1. The salary is good by industry standards.
2. The year-end bonus is also good.
3. In principle, the editors at the publishing company are all nice people, and interacting with them can be very rewarding.
The female general manager of the business department thinks she is God. Although she is a Christian, she actually only loves herself.
The deputy general manager cannot do anything. The only thing he probably did right was marry the right wife (the general manager).
The most important job in the entire department is to please the general manager and her husband. If they dislike you, they may even require colleagues not to speak to you.
Although it is supposedly a business platform, it treats the publishing companies below it unequally and allocates resources unfairly, giving good resources only to publishing companies that are on good terms with them.
In short, unless you can throw away your conscience and become a dog, working there will be very difficult.
Every month there is a birthday celebration (eat and drink to your heart’s content)
The company pays for employee trips after you have worked there for a full year
Year-end bonuses are not based on your years of service; they depend on the general manager’s mood
Colleagues play mind games to compete for favor, acting one way in public and another in private (as long as you have gossip, your colleagues will sell it to your supervisor)
As long as you are favored, you can hold a high-paying, high-ranking position without doing anything
As long as you are not favored, everything you do is wrong and unnecessary
The general manager always plays the good person, but is actually extremely narrow-minded
Yet he charges all his eating, drinking, and entertainment expenses to the company, and even tells general affairs staff to handle his personal errands
Working at this company is smooth sailing if you encounter a good supervisor, but if you encounter a lousy one, the moment you make a mistake, you can expect to be pushed out to take the fall
You have to keep an extremely low profile at this company. When you encounter the general manager, you must greet him. He is very good at presenting himself, but is actually extremely stingy and exploitative
If he dislikes you, no matter how hard you try, you will never do anything right, and he will look for trouble at every turn.
Taking leave is extremely difficult; even when you request time off, you have to worry about the general manager asking all sorts of questions. Afraid that employees will work overtime, the company requires them not to clock in and makes them falsify their working hours (not to mention the ban on taking leave—if you dare request leave, you will be put on the blacklist immediately)
You accumulate a pile of annual leave but cannot take it without worry. When you work overtime, they even hope you will exchange it for annual leave instead of cash
The vice general manager’s husband is actually very lecherous, but because of his wife, he can only look and keep his thoughts to himself; when interviewing employees, he picks the ones he likes
He cannot drive himself, so he finds employees who can drive to serve as his chauffeurs.
They only keep increasing your performance targets: if you make 5 million this week, next week they will demand 7 million
It is easy to say—why not try doing it yourself? While the employees below work themselves to the bone, the general manager and his wife only know how to travel abroad and enjoy themselves
(And these expenses are still... paid by the company)
Every month, every so often, it is like the emperor turning over name plaques: if yours is selected, you have to go to a group dinner with an attitude of gratitude (but in fact, no one wants to go)
The company never innovates and does not consider how difficult it currently is to run a publishing house
The online system is unbelievably terrible. Readers post negative reviews on Google, and the company hides them, then blames subordinates for why such comments exist. Extremely hypocritical.
The threshold is very low; it’s very easy.
The price offered by the good-guy publisher in there is too low, and the work is shoddily made.
They even hide negative Google reviews—hypocritical.
People who like buying books can get a discount by working here.
The owner is very crafty. If she dislikes you, she will endlessly make trouble for you. She is very good at putting on an act, making everyone think she treats her employees well, but in reality she is extremely stingy. If she dislikes you, then no matter how you act, what you say, or how you handle things, nothing you do will ever please her.
