Pros

If you take it seriously, you can learn things.

Because everyone is simply too busy, there is little office politicking among colleagues.

The work environment is good and aesthetically pleasing.

Most colleagues are generally easy to get along with.

Cons

There are all kinds of violations of the Labor Standards Act: working overtime, no overtime pay, and company rules determined solely by the boss. Things are one way today and another way tomorrow; they say one thing and do another. Policies are changed every day—to the point where it would not be an exaggeration to say you become dizzy and see stars.

One person is expected to take on multiple roles. Departments frequently collapse or experience mass resignations, leaving other departments to shoulder the workload.

The turnover rate is frighteningly high. The number of employees stays around 20–40; it would not be an exaggeration to say that 20–30 people leave the entire company in a year. New hires leave almost as quickly as they arrive.

Because the turnover rate is so high, the boss came up with a devious idea and changed company policy: anyone who resigns has to pay back the bonuses from the previous six months, effectively coercing employees into staying.

There is also an issue of underreporting high salaries for labor insurance purposes.

You may be required to join several company clubs, and even after work you are often bombarded with messages from the company.

I’ve also heard that some former colleagues worked overtime until the next day and went straight into their next shift without a break. It’s extremely frightening.
