At the beginning of the interview, they repeatedly emphasized that the news found on Google was all false information. However, after starting work, I confirmed that it was all true. There were absolutely no company policies or systems in place. The company’s senior management was involved in lawsuits every day and constantly asking the sales staff when payment for goods (money) would be received. The misuse of company resources for personal purposes was extremely serious. The company receptionist was also expected to serve as a senior executive’s babysitter, picking up and dropping off their child at school and handling various household chores. The company’s senior management had no decision-making ability whatsoever; those below were always left to take the blame and clean up the aftermath. Any constructive suggestions were regarded as challenging the senior management’s authority. The company’s senior management made all kinds of unreasonable demands and even operated in legal gray areas—for example, asking you to ship items that could not be shipped to the other side of the strait, or somehow ship items back from the other side; changing their minds after contracts had been signed with customers and telling you to find a solution yourself; and, after losing overseas orders because of seriously flawed decisions by senior management, directly firing the sales staff instead. Afterwards, they would maliciously withhold wages and bonuses.
Work environment: As soon as you enter, there is a strong smell of burning incense. This is because one senior executive had previously served time for a certain case, so they prayed to gods and Buddhas everywhere and even brought in a religious practitioner to perform rituals in the company. Even more outrageously, they would smoke directly inside the company, so they bought several air purifiers, but they were still frequently reported by the neighboring company. If you want to know more factual details, Google the keyword “掬水軒” yourself.
Benefits: No bonuses for the three major holidays, no mid-year or year-end bonus, no employee trips—basically, there are no benefits at all, except for one NT$500 company merchandise voucher.
To anyone fortunate enough to see this: There are many more suitable jobs in this society. I sincerely recommend that you not come here to ruin your life and future. No matter how much you contribute, it cannot compare with a single remark based on a senior executive’s mood that day. I have seen too many people being fired on the spot that same day—some cried, some made a scene, and some silently accepted it. It really feels as though the Labor Standards Act was created specifically for companies like this. Please compare more options before deciding!
