Read the community guidelinesNone, I have already left the company.
1. Jixing Hat Manufacturing was the predecessor of Max Succeeds Enterprise Co,. LTD (the New Era hat factory in Vietnam); it is a family business.
2. Poor living conditions (problems such as a dirty and damp environment):
- Foreign managers ate in a partitioned area set up on the floor above the factory. Foreign employees originally also lived there, so the factory would not pass inspections by European and American brands.
- For the above reason, after around September this year, all foreign managers moved to accommodation outside the factory. Foreign managers also had to cover part of the rent, utilities, internet, and other expenses themselves.
- The meals provided three times a day were extremely poor (the kitchen staff cannot be blamed; the problem was with the budget provided by the company’s operators in the first place).
3. Delayed salary payments
During my time working there, my salary was never paid on time (payday was the 10th, but payment was always delayed).
4. The return flight to Taiwan mentioned in the Offer Letter (Mandarin Airlines—Taichung/Ho Chi Minh City) was changed to a low-cost airline immediately after I started work. After I raised the issue, it was changed back to a regular airline.
5. Year-end bonuses: Every year, they claimed the company was operating at a loss, even though orders were overflowing and they could still supposedly make a loss. “A mysterious note: The loss was created on the books.”
- Basically, the position only offered a monthly salary with no year-end bonus. I changed companies within three months, so I never received one. According to colleagues who had worked there or left and received their final payments, you should basically not expect a year-end bonus to be paid: “Your annual salary is whatever it is.”
One-sentence summary: Do not go there under any circumstances.
